I did find the at-home retreat uniquely powerful and effective.

[While] I do thoroughly enjoy connecting with other members of the sangha, especially those I may only see at [an in-person] retreat, I did find the at-home retreat uniquely powerful and effective. This may have to do with being in my own house where there are less demands on my social interactions without the sense of having to moderate my expression. After the first day of retreat, when I could not stop crying, I had such a thorough and therapeutic emotional release by just throwing my self across my own bed and wailing without concern of how that might affect others or having to drive home or whatever and I could just be fully present for myself.
