Focus for the Retreat
Come up with a clear intention for what you want to gain from the retreat.
Align with presence or the mysterious guiding force of not knowing.
Experience each moment with Beginner's Mind.
Develop compassion, empathy, patience and forgiveness for the insecure ego who wants to know and be in control.
Develop gratitude and the ability to bring an attitude of fascination and curiosity to whatever is happening in the present moment and forgiveness to the parts of oneself that are afraid and judgmental.
Jon Bernie
Online Events with Jon are unique, with a feel unlike anything else. Participants remark how intimate and transformative they are, which is often surprising given that we are all joining from our homes all over world! These meetings have a fluid structure guided by Jon's intuition, similar to his local gatherings—familiar to many of you from his podcasts—with silent sitting, teaching from Jon and one-on-one work with a number of participants.
Sign up early to have time to receive and read important instructions. Registration closes 90 min before the event.
See you soon!
Jon and Clear Water Sangha volunteer staff
Jon Bernie is a contemporary, nondual spiritual teacher who offers a compassionate, heart-centered approach to awakening. His teaching focuses on returning the attention to the already enlightened state that lies at the core of our human experience. A series of early awakening experiences as a teenager led Jon to ordain as a monk in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, and subsequently to the practice of retreat-based vipassana (insight meditation) as an early student of Jack Kornfield. In the late 1980s, Jon’s spiritual trajectory was profoundly altered by Jean Klein, an accomplished teacher of Advaita Vedanta and Kashmiri Yoga, with whom he studied intensively for an extended period. Jon subsequently spent time with H.W.L. Poonja (Papaji) and Robert Adams, both direct disciples of Ramana Maharshi.
He has four decades of practice and study in the Zen, Theravada Buddhist & Advaita traditions and was formally asked to teach by Adyashanti in 2002.

What people are saying about these events
"HIS JOY IS CONTAGIOUS!!" —JACINTO (JON'S FATHER IN LAW)
“The online satsang yesterday was a grounding and beautiful experience for me. After a week of feeling a bit scattered, I found the online gathering to facilitate a beautiful dropping-in and sense of connection. Living across the country, I'm very grateful for these gatherings.”
—Jason
“I loved the small group connection and our personal connecting time also. I could feel there was a circular energy flowing from the whole group. I liked the format, especially the quiet sitting between dialogues, I felt that worked really well. Thanks again Jon ... and the team and I look forward to connecting again soon. Lots of Love and Blessings…”
—Paul
“Thank you for the wonderful experience with yesterday’s Satsang. It was my first ever experience like this, so I just wanted to reach out and say it was a true joy to sense the presence of all of you wonderful souls…”
—Anders
“Thank you for the wonderful online Satsang. It was so lovely to connect with young people from all over the world. The energy was palpable.”

*We recommend having these when you join for the most optimal gathering (satsang) or retreat experience for yourself, for Jon and for other participants. We have found that a wired internet connection may prevent your video feed from being dropped. Earbuds with embedded mic prevents audio feedback and ensures good voice quality if you dialogue with Jon. Can you try without these? Sure! But we cannot vouch for the quality of your experience. Our goal is to create an online environment free of technological distractions as much as we can so we can focus on the intention of our gathering--just like our in-person events. We hope to see you there!
Enrollment and preparation: Upon enrollment, you should receive a confirmation email from <scheduling@acuityscheduling.com> with important information. If you do not see this email within an hour of enrollment, please check your spam or promotions folder. Registration closes 90 minutes before the event start time. Even if you've done Zoom events before, we recommend logging on 15 minutes before the start time to make sure you don't have any unexpected technical issues. Once the event begins, we cannot assist you.
Recording: Please be reminded that we will record these online events, which we will be working to make available for access down the line. If you work with Jon one-on-one in a meeting and would like to have your interaction edited out of the recording, please email us to let us know.
Cancellations: The enrollment fee for all online events is nontransferable. For Online Gatherings (satsangs), the enrollment fee is nonrefundable. For retreat cancellations, a full refund minus a $25 processing fee will be given up to 4 days before the retreat. No refund within 3 days of the retreat.
